Photos That Changed the World, edited by Peter Stepan, is a powerful and thought-provoking collection of photographs that have left an indelible mark on history. This book presents nearly 100 iconic images that captured pivotal moments in global events, shaping public consciousness and influencing the course of history.

From the Wright brothers’ first flight to the fall of the Berlin Wall, from civil rights marches to humanitarian crises, each photograph is presented with a concise essay that explains its historical context and emotional impact. The images come from legendary photographers such as Dorothea Lange, Lewis Hine, and James Nachtwey, as well as anonymous photojournalists who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

The book’s layout allows each photograph to be appreciated on its own terms, while the accompanying texts highlight why these images remain unforgettable. It’s a compelling tribute to the role of photography in documenting truth, sparking change, and bearing witness to human experience across generations.
